So I cut off all of my hair..well most of it in the midst of one of my horrible mood swings. I hate it so short but while it sucks most of my hair was fried anyways so I dont really care to much that I did it. haha

Now its rather short and i cant figure out what color would look good, right now its a faded but still bright crayon red and blond where the red rinsed out (thank you kool-aid...by the way kool-aid for me was better then any dye i've ever bought it took forever to fade at all.) I dont have pictures as i have no camera.

its about like this for the cut : Free Image Hosting at www.ImageShack.us

and heres my skin tone/as close to my natural color as i've seen in years.

I dont want to go black or too dark, and i'm possibly thinking maybe doing highlights with whatever color i end up with. It has to be natural as i'm dying it to start looking for work, and it has to be cheap. (less then 20 bucks)

I haven't posted in a lonnnnnnggggggg time. Hi! I'm Emily, I'm 18, I've been dying my hair for at least 5 years now.

under the cut is pictures of my SFX Fishbowl and Pimpin' Purple dyed bangs.

I apologize in advance for the terrible cellphone pictures, I just got my first camera phone and unfortunately we don't have any other digital camera in the house (weird family, I know).

chronologically from 6 months ago to a couple days ago )

the only colors I've ever used are Fishbowl and Pimpin' Purple, so this kind of goes to show how much variation you can get with the colors (especially Fishbowl). after I used toner the first time I didn't do anything else but dye over what I already had. by now the color is really nice and saturated.

Booooooored. Hair timeline. Both naturalish and unnatural colours. I want opinions on which was your favourite, and what you'd like to see in the future. <3.

So, I started about here. I was.. Eleven here, maybe? This -Might- have had a rinse through it.. A bronze or something, as I had awful grey-brown hair. Shortly after I started to get actual greys and decided to start dyeing.

Also - camera is not having of timer mode. So, MySpace-y looking pictures abound. Sorry. VEEEEERRRY image heavy.

I'm a dark ash blond color now but it used to be really light when i was younger :-( and I've been trying to use chammomile and lemon juice to lighten it back (i don't want anything drastic, just lighter) but that doesn't seem to be working... so I'm curious if anyone has tried diluting hydrogen peroxide in their shampoo or as a rinse or even using it on a toothbrush to create highlights? i know this is "bad" and "dangerous" and would require a lot of conditioning to make sure it doesn't get brittle and fall out, but honestly my main concern is that i do not want my hair to turn red :-p ....so good idea? bad idea? any thoughts??

I've been coloring my hair for about five years now and between the coloring and straightening, it's got a lot of split ends and right now it's back to a brown/black it has been off + on for the past few years, and I desperately need advice on where to go next.

Two-toned?

  Hey guys, I have a question. ^^;

I currently have two box colors that I'd like to use. One is dark brown/black and the other is burgundy. Both are part of the Revlon Colorsilk line. I'd like to have both colors in my hair, but I'm not sure exactly how I want the colors placed.

I was thinking mainly about dying the under layer of my hair and a few streaks in front burgundy and dying the rest of it the dark brown/black color.

But I guess what I'm saying is: Do you guys have any suggestions as to what you think would look good? I'd like to hear what you have to say. My only request is that the burgundy is not the primary color in my hair. I work at Barnes and Noble and I get the feeling that the managers would frown upon me having anything that might be considered "too wild".

Thanks ^-^

And just for reference: Pictures of me and the box colors I'd like to use )

I'm new here and I have a question as far as experiences and recommendations go with white hair.

My hair has been very white-ish, and platinum, but I was wondering if anything, what can keep/get your hair to PAPER WHITE?

Shimmer lights makes my hair purpley silver.
I've heard virgin snow toner makes hair silvery.

Is there anything I can do?

hi :)
i dyed my hair last week, a darker reddy-brown colour (only a semi though)
and i thought it looked okay.
but i'm getting rather paranoid, i mean, i know you can't rely on men to compliment you,
but two of my guy friends have both said it looks "weird".
are they just being awkward, or did my hair actually look better before?
(pics below)
your thoughts would be appreciated :):)

So I dyed my hair BLACK about 4 months ago...maybe a bit less...
But now I want to strip the whole thing and go completely bleach blonde. I need to do it as CHEAPLY as possible. I am in RI, so wherever I need to go to get it cheap, info would be helpful :-)

so, i had bleached my hair a while back, i got it to a nice blonde color. but eventually as hair usually does, it grew out and i had some major roots showing, so i dyed it back to the darker color i had before. people said i was too pale and washed out for blonde anyways.

i decided to spice it up a bit this time though and add the blonde underneath, and apparently i missed some blonde on the top, but it's all good as it just looks like highlights and you can't see it unless you're looking for it.

sooo, onto pictures )

Where to section.
  dyedhair - (cherrymilkdrops)

07:59pm 20/07/2008
Where in my hair would I need to section off so I could do black in the same place where this girl has? (We both have the same hairstyle also.)
I think I'd just need to dye all the underneath of my hair black, and just a bit more on one side than the other, to make black show in that side more. But it also looks like the black goes higher up.

Any ideas where I should section? Should I just stick to a straight line underneath my hair or should I go in an upwards slant towards the front of one side of my hair?

   Ok so, here's my problem.

I have really dark hair in general. You know, dark brown. It's not the darkest hair in the book, but it is dark. And the thing is, I've done perms before and dyed my hair only once before. But now, everytime I try to dye it light, only the roots show, and the rest is still a very dark color to the point that it still looks black, with a tint of a light color. I've dyed my hair twice,, and it doesn't show much of an improvement.

Is there anything I can do to get my entire hair to look one color? Also, maybe a certain color would show? The two times I've tried to dye it, I tried bright red. Maybe a light brown would work on my hair instead? This is just too frustrating!

Thanks guys for the help! I'm using the site recommended to me :

http://www.hairstylecity.com/HairCare/HomeMadeHairMasks.aspx

I'm going to do treatments every 3 or so days for a while to see if it helps.

I'm starting with the avocado treatment. I'm also going to do an egg treatment, milk and honey treatment, treatment and honey and olive oil treatment.

For anyone who didn't read my last post from yesterday, I asked about mayonaise for the hair. I've decided not to do that, and instead I'm going with the above site someone told me about. These are all masks/treatments for damaged hair/to make it healthy.
