I have had platinum blonde hair for about two years now. I love the color, but the maintenance is too much for me and I have decided to dye back to my natural ashy brown. However, I had a whole bunch of veggie dyes hanging around and, yesterday, dyed my hair completely pink (Manic Panic Hot Hot Pink) just as a last hurrah. What's the point in having platinum hair if you aren't going to use it as the blank canvas that it is? I have always used color in streaks or blocks, never the whole deal, so I'm quite pleased with it all being one solid, ridiculous color.
However, the boss gave me a few days' leeway, but would like me to get into a natural color asap. I was planning on just dying the "light ash brown" straight over the pink, but the woman at Sally's told me that I'd have to dye it ORANGE first. What? It's already pink... but she insisted that if I wanted to do an ashy color over this, it would need to be orange first. No way, man. I've spent the last two years of my life running from brass and orange colors. I AIN'T DOIN' IT.
At least not unless the general consensus here is that it must be done. What do you guys think? |

I've posted a couple times in the past, and I've had a pretty extensive love/hate relationship with dyes and cuts for some time now. I think I'm coming out of my hate stage, after not dying it for a bit. Two years maybe? I'm ready for something new, but I feel fresh out of ideas (that would look decent on me). I always fall back into reds, but I'm an open mind. Opinions? :)

Hay guys,
After having bright pink(ish) hair for a year and a half, I decided to change things up and become one with autumn by doing a natural reddish color instead.
Look at my hairs because I'm quite pleased that this didn't end up a fried mess, or some nasty puke-based color. ( Pink to natural red! )
This process was not actually that daunting (although the stripping/bleaching routine is extremely tedious), and my hair is completely fine and healthy even though it felt like it started to turn into mush while the bleach was on my head. I did use some kind of deep conditioning shit... and yeah, I'm pretty happy with it, so I thought I'd share.

I've been a fake blonde for a while now. But it's always been a medium warm blonde. Yesterday I decided I wanted to go platinum so I dyed it, then used a toner with blue undertones. My hair was so porous that it only absorbed the blue undertones. Now I am left with grey, slightly blue tinted hair [ Instead of the platinum I wanted ].
What can I do to take the grey-blue out? I don't care what color blonde my hair is anymore, I just don't want it to be grey.
Do you think if I bought a warm color of blonde box dye, it will cover the grey and blue tint my hair has now? |

I've bleached my hair so that I could dye it blue-ish green. I've been doing this for years. I've always used a toner after bleaching and before dying it the blue-ish green. But is that really necessary? If I plan on dying it afterward anyway do I really need to use a toner to get rid of the copper/yellow tones? Or is toner only really needed when you plan on bleaching blonde and staying blonde? |
